Crating Services

Prior to moving:

  • Verify size, description and value of all authorized crates.
  • Notify customer of any pre-existing damage prior to crating service.
  • Construct crates in an area that is convenient to moving crews and customers alike.
  • Leave crates in a safe and secure location upon completion.
  • Remove debris and sweep work area.

Slat Crating

  • Slat CratingInventory each item to be crated prior to service.
  • Inform customer as to the steps being taken to properly crate each item.
  • Construct all slat crates with quality grade lumber.
  • Crates maybe lined with new or slightly recycled cardboard for added protection.
  • Wrap all items with approved packaging material such as dolphin wrap, acid free paper or foam blocking to secure items to its bracing and crate.
  • Properly brace, hang or block items inside to prevent movement or damage.
  • Label and document proper direction and method on outside of each crate for handling.
  • Add tip-and-tell and shock watch indicators with all fragile crates to insure care and safety.
  • Inspect integrity and workmanship of all slat crates upon completion.

Solid Crating

  • Solid CratingInventory each item to be solid crated prior to service.
  • Inform customer as to the steps being taken to properly solid crate each item.
  • Construct all crates with plywood materials and quality grade lumber.
  • Wrap all items with approved packaging material such as dolphin wrap, acid free paper, or foam blocking to secure items to its bracing and crate.
  • Properly brace, hang or block items inside to prevent movement or damage.
  • Label and document proper direction and method on outside of each crate for handling.
  • Add tip-and-tell and shock watch indicators with all fragile crates to insure care and safety.
  • Inspect integrity and workmanship of all solid crates upon completion.

International Crating

  • International CratingPre-screen calls to confirm all specifications and requirements upon arrival for overseas transit.
  • Construct all crates with solid plywood materials and IPPC stamped, heat treated lumber.
  • Insure all IPPC stamped materials are clearly visible for inspections through customs.
  • Confirm that all overseas crates comply with all shipping guidelines and heat-treated wood specifications to protect the environment.

Museum Art Crating

  • Museum Art & Statue CratingDocument and review proposed value of each piece.
  • Verify proper insurance and clarify fiscal responsibility amongst all parties based upon the shippers needs and requests.
  • Share and discuss a plan of action with any humidity and temperature concerns.
  • Survey and inventory the location and item prior to crating.
  • Carefully pack and crate items with extreme care and importance.
  • Document and photograph entire procedure for insurance purposes.
  • Include any important documentation or instructions in crate for proper uncrating, handling and care.

Statue & Sculpture Crating

  • Inventory and verify integrity and condition of each statue or sculpture.
  • Consult with the owner regarding any concerns with disassembly, weight, bracing, humidity or temperature with each piece.
  • Document and secure all brittle or loose items prior to packing.
  • Label and add shock watch features to all statue and sculpture crates to aid in transit.

Uncrating Services

Upon arrival at destination:

  • UncratingVerify all uncrated items with approved list.
  • Point out any discrepancies or damage to crates prior to uncrating to all responsible parties.
  • Acquire the proper manpower to uncrate all items safely and securely.
  • Uncrate all items according to their specified crate label designation and documentation.
  • Work will take place in a dry, safe location free from any obstructions.
  • Discuss proper placement of each uncrated item for safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Confirm integrity and condition of each uncrated item with customer prior to signing off the destination work order.
  • Remove all debris and sweep work area upon completion of service.
